Taking a weekend trip to Antwerp one of the coolest cities in Belgium is always a good idea! The city has plenty of fashionable stores, vintage treasures, and hip places to grab a coffee.
The veggie restaurants in Antwerp have mushroomed up throughout the years, meaning there are plenty of choices to indulge in a healthy vegetarian meal when visiting Antwerp.
Here are a few of my personal favorites.
Food tours in Antwerp
Visiting Antwerpen but not sure what the local specialties are? Why not try and take a food tour with a local and discover the city at the same time. Do not miss out on Antwerpse Handjes (biscuits or chocolates in the shape of a hand) and een bolleke, the locally brewed beer.

Racine is located in an old industrial site which has been completely refurbished into a hub for creativity and sustainability. Racine fits right it with its fun interior, quality ingredients, and ample menu. The perfect spot for a laid-back veggie lunch in Mechelen. Grab a salad or one of their signature sandwiches (filled with plenty of veggies, hummus, you name it!) and wash it down with a glass of natural wine or a fresh juice.

One of the staples of vegetarian food is Hummus, and there is no better place to get it than at HUMM. This is one of my favorite veggie restaurants in Antwerp! HUMM serves acai bowls, peanut butter, and jelly sandwiches, and chia seed bowls. But what makes them special is the rest of the menu -True Middle Eastern cuisine – served in a tranquil (yet very hip) atmosphere.
The coffee is hot, the wine is natural and the beers have been made with spontaneous fermentation. The perfect place for a vegetarian brunch in Antwerp or a light dinner.
