Traveling in Luxembourg
Luxembourg offers a captivating blend of natural beauty, rich history, and modernity. From its fairy-tale-like castles to picturesque vineyards and enchanting old towns, the Grand Duchy has something for everyone.
Nestled in the heart of Europe, Luxembourg might be small in size but it has a wealth of activities to offer.
The capital city, Luxembourg City, is a delightful maze of cobbled streets and fortified walls. Its UNESCO-listed Old Town, known as the Grund, offers a journey back in time, where ancient architecture and narrow alleyways weave a tapestry of enchantment.
Venture beyond the city limits, and a serene countryside awaits. The Müllerthal region, aptly nicknamed “Little Switzerland,” enchants visitors with its dense forests, meandering streams, and awe-inspiring rock formations. These hiking trails are my personal number one reason to visit Luxembourg.
Luxembourg’s wine country is a secret treasure, producing exceptional vintages that rival those of its renowned European counterparts. Take a leisurely drive along the Moselle River and savor the delicate flavors of Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Castles in Luxembourg
Castle lovers will get their fix as they visit some of the 70 castles dotted around the countryside. Vianden Castle is the largest and best preserved, while Bourscheid Castle is beautiful to see around sunset from one of the many viewpoints.
